First Aid for Mental Health

We offer 3 First Aid for Mental Health courses:

Level 1:

This 4 hour awareness course introduces the learner to First Aid for Mental Health and helps them to explore how to support others with mental health concerns and refer on. No previous knowledge is required to join this course. Assessment is by way of a short multiple-choice paper.

Level 2:

This one day course gives learners the opportunity to become a First Aider for Mental Health in their workplace or community group. It looks at what First Aid for Mental Health is, drawing on the CARE model to support those with mental health concerns. We look at some of the types of mental ill health, how to support and signpost, and how to promote wellbeing in the workplace. Certification is Ofqual regulated and lasts for 3 years. Assessment is by way of a discussion and short question paper.

Level 3:

Supervising First Aid for Mental Health

This 2 day course further builds on the level 2 to enable learners to supervise those in a First Aider for Mental Health role. We look further at how to build a positive culture and how to address challenges faced. Assessment is by discussion a short question paper. Certification is Ofqual regulated and lasts for 3 years. This is especially useful for those responsible for managing teams or supporting staff well-being.
