Prerequisites
A CompEx certificate dated within 5 years of the course date.
Candidates will be expected to record their previous experience and qualifications. Candidates must provide copies of qualifications and photo identification (e.g. Driving Licence, Passport, Identity Card or JIB/SJIB/CSCS Card).
Candidates should be appropriately qualified electrotechnical craftspersons, or must be able to provide an employer endorsed letter to substantiate their experience in the relevant discipline.
Candidates must sign a declaration to that effect as part of their registration and all above documents must be returned to our Coordinator, prior to starting the course.
Course Content
During the course, a digital photograph will be taken to upload the appropriate information to the CompEx database. This information is required to enable the CompEx certification to be recorded, and the photograph will be included on the certificate. Please note, competency cards are no longer included as part of the certification but can be purchased separately via the CompEx store
It is strongly recommended that delegates are able to make off steel wire armoured and braided cable glands.
This course will consist of 1.5 days theory followed by 3 practical assessments, an online equipment selection assessment and multi-choice online exam covering all modules on the last day.
The practical assessment will involve the installation of armoured/braided cables for Non Is equipment, you will also be required to carry out inspections on Non-Is equipment and Is equipment. Candidates are expected to gland and terminate steel wire armoured and braided glands; to perform safe isolation procedures.
